I have to go with putting Lady Liberty back on. She is the personification of the USA. Presidents..... not so much. We need another Adolph Weinman. His engravings are works of art IMHO.

We'll never have coins like these again, unfortunately. Silver toned instead of stained or dissolved.

I appreciate the difficulty the mint has in coming up with a coin material that is worth face value or slightly less. Maybe stainless steel? I blame minimum wage (but that's another political rant that will get me in trouble). When we earned $2.50 an hour a cent was worth it's weight in copper.

It would be easy if we lost the coins that are essentially without value - pennies for sure, and probably nickels as well. What do either of them buy you today? Canada had the right idea there.

Dimes and above can be debased easily enough if necessary, although they already cost less to produce than what they're worth and should remain that way for some time.

as a digger, I would never support removing coins from circulation.
Even Pennies.

First off other countries have done this &
those coins are now as valuable as the rocks in the ground with them.

If we get rid of the Penny, eventually the fed will get tired of taking them back.
the most banks already complain on dirty damaged coins.
so once they are off the Grid, they will eventually become useless.
and unless the price of copper Skyrockets,
all those pennies from the 1940's up that survived the rot,
may as well have rotted away :( as rottin' tin bean cans will have the same value.

Imagine finding a Cache of 100,000 preserved Zinclons in a large Plastic Water Jug,
and the Plastic water jug has more Value as a bank to hold Dimes & quarters
and there is a Bill in congress to get rid of dimes & quarters because people don't use anything
less then paper $10.00 Dollar bills any more :(

same goes for nickels.

give them an inch to take something from us, they will use the Precedent
as a hint that they can take much more

I'm not so sure I wanna carry a pocket full of coins around,
but would make detecting Gas rebates more profitable

of course they must be at least made of copper & preferably the size
of Half Dimes & 3 cent pieces (easy to drop & loose) :laughing7:

Yea but allot of those European Men carry Purses.

I have no plans on carrying a purse. Not even in my next few reincarnations

I'd need deep strong pockets

LOL.... I didn't notice any when I was there but I'm sure some do..... Just a lot better digging $3.00 coins rather than nickles and dimes....

Heck take a trip to Australia and pounce a few parks~ One dollar and two dollar coins will make ya smile all day long :) :) Treasury would save a mint *pun intended* just picking up those two coins and dropping the dollar bill. I find the current dollar coin convenient~ It works well on the soda machine that wont take quarters with no eagles.... just wish the design stood out ;) Euro's are pretty cool to but they suffer the same problem as our currency does~ dumb designs. But that'll happen when you mix the nations.
