Good story bigscoop, but it could be more than the treats.
Dogs respect authority, it may be why the dog likes you.
My wife won't discipline our dogs, I do it, she tries to win them over with treats, and attention, but they just use her like a door mat.
They obey my every command, and lay at my feet.......it upsets her, but she won't change her dog spoiling ways.
Dogs respect the Alpha, and they will always try to move up in the ranks.
