Most are, but I'm saying that you shouldn't assume that ALL found artefacts will be welcomed even if you manage to find the original owner or relatives and that you should proceed with caution. A 'ring-finder' is usually approached by a distraught loser and that's a different situation and unlike my (true) example.

In the UK other items are found ... like a war medal that has been thrown away in disgust ... the surviving relatives are sometimes not interested. Then there's something discarded that will open old wounds ... best be careful; each family is different.
