Unless the older knife has a makers mark (stamp) or you know who made it, the time period and it's value, I would recommend the Case XX and probably the Buck 119! While the Buck 105 is slightly more valuable than the 119, you can do so much more with the 119 and also the mere size of it, scares the shiite out of would be attackers, LOL. However, I am also a little biased as I was gifted a Buck 119 many years ago and I carry it all the time. The Case XX should be a no brainer due to it's value and potential increase in value!

Take the Case with the striped grip. You can't get that one anymore, but you can still get the black handled Buck.

I'd go for both Bucks. Good solid user knives. The other two are junk, but that's just my professional opinion.

The "old one" probably isn't that old, looks like a WW2 or newer Phillipines made knife. The Case is really new, like ten years or less, and the Bucks are much better quality knives for users.

The Schrade your brother chose could have a little collector interest if it is of the older US made (pre 2004) vs. the more recent Chinese made variety. I have heard unfriendly things about the newer ones.
