I dig all targets so I don't miss anything really good, I mainly do it to get rid of a lot of trash that may be masking better and deeper targets.

Since I find nails, pull tabs and pennies just about anywhere I detect, I use them as indicators of activity and age.

I was thinking about setting a bunch of rotted chopped pennies in epoxy and using it as a doorstop, I have a few fossils I use now but could always use another unique one.

When I roll my pennies of good pennies to spend... I throw a few destroyed ones in each roll. Let my bank reclaim them from the mint.

That is probably one of the coolest uses for zincolns that I have heard of. I would love to try that some time, the problem is I would need to buy some epoxy and I'm too lazy to buy some. Any photos of the fossils you made, sounds cool,

The fossils I found are just some larger specimens found around Ohio, nothing fancy but I could take some pics later. I recently found some sponges but busted them trying to get from the host rock. Still decent pieces but I was hoping to score one without breaking it, I was at work so it was one of those now or never deals and I used hat I had onhand.

Just keep them as a reminder of all the hardwork it took to find them! They're an indicator coin. An indicator of how many holes you've dug!

My first cache find I remember was Bottle caps.
not officially a cache.
I believe someone either spent a day at the swimming hole picking up caps,
or there was a party and the partiers didn't want to step on bottle caps in bare feet.
but it was a Coffee Jar full of Beer caps, in a Garbage bag in the mud, under the water
in a local swimming hole.

Yes I understand sometimes we can't help but pass on a obvious piece of Trash.
especially after digging 20 obvious trash signals that sounded the same.
But, Without your eyes on it, there is no guarantee you did the right thing.

With the AT pro the number 76 is a zincoln...some things Ive dug that read 76...silver rings, 1911 Canadian large cent, 1901 silver British/Hong Kong 5 cent, tokens, 1945 British/Hong Kong 10 cent, 8.6 gram 10k gold ring and more.

I did the same thing for a couple of years but then one day I dumped em in the trash because I never figured out a good way to get rid of them...wasn't worth it for me to pass off to stores because it would save me so little...didn't want to make it the store owners problem.
