Will NOT pull anything without BB's...
And WELL pumped full of grease.
Worth every penny.

P.S. my current custom made boat trailer is double axel with 15's...
I gets dunked at the hole at least twice a day... weather permitting... 3 to 7 days a week for roughly 6-7 months of year...
Salt water only...
I remove and clean grease ever season...
6 years of this... and counting...
Same bearings... no probs yet... but I think I am gonna change em out anyway....
I am torn though...
I hear that voice in my head saying "if it aint broke, don't fix it".

If they aren't pitted, scorn or other damage I would just keep using them.

Agreed.
Those little *******s are not really what I consider "cheap"...
Change out is almost a "hundo" each time... for 4 tires... including grease etc.

Yeah, it does get expensive. The reason I'm changing mine is their pitted from a previous owner.

Welp... currently I am minutes from drop in hole so not issue for me now...
Season is quickly approaching and I am currently in maintenance mode now...
Unless something pulls me to go on a "trip"...
bearings will remain in boat trailer.
But you can bet your bottom dollar ... I will change ALL before any trip.
And keep the old as usual as "spares".

I have had boats my whole life anything that can go wrong will go wrong at least once. I do not care how good you are. If nothing has happened you have not been doing it very long.
Haa

Never burnt a bearing... before this...
Only been trailering for about 7 years...
My boat now was perm in water prior to this...
She stayed in the waters of treasure island... not on a trailer... prior to last few years of travel.
My boat before this one... trailered ... never a prob.
Never blown a tire either...
And like I said earlier... I don't buy a trailer without 4 wheels... period.
IF I blew a tire or burnt a bearing... I would just get out and remove wheel...
Then get back in and keep driving...
SO... No problem.

As far a "not been doing it that long"... heh
My old neighbor and I have bought serviced and sold..
Well over 100 trailers...
All boat.
We use to buy trailers with boats in the worst shape just for trailer rebuilds...
Drive to the junk yard...
push the boat off...
And drive away.
STILL no probs with it.
Been told I am a lucky person a few times in my life...
Hopefully not my last :)

P.S> I might add that I rarely trailer for any real distance... this may have added to my "luck"... heh

It's even more fun when your trailer breaks in half going down the road due to rust!!!

Yeah that stuff is no fun. I had s neighbor years ago who had a diesel Chevy luv and his frame was rusted out and broke on I5 freeway in Washington state. He got it home and in one weekend swapped out the frame with a junk yard replacement!
