We have been getting up into the 40's but last night it went arctic again.

This AM I was on a stretch of interstate for my morning commute and we had an absolute white-out blizzard. Worst I have ever seen (and I've seen some good blizzards). Or not seen as it was. From clear to absolutely white in two seconds - like someone had thrown a bucket of white paint on the windshield. I could barely see the chemical tank truck 100 ft ahead of me and could see he was stopping, so I braked - and looked into my rear-view to see a big 4x4 pick-up truck coming on hot. I wove left to crowd a car in the passing lane and the pick-up went right of me on the shoulder and plowed into the grass at the beginning of a bridge overpass berm. 50 foot sooner he'd have had a poor choice between my tail and the cement "Jersey Wall"; and then bumper-cared info me. He extricated himself back onto pavement as we sat waiting out the squall. We gave each other the "thumbs up" and soon traffic began again. Crawled past three accidents where others had just gone snow blind and plowed into cars ahead.

I am SO ready for this winter to be over.

I'd like a few days of that! I bet the snow would disappear real quick

Careful what you wish for! At this point it would cause flooding!
Ya papalittle, our normal temps would be 40-50's now, instead of 20's and low 30's with still a foot plus of snow on the ground, not counting the snow mountains.
And just to smack us in the face, Friday, the first day of spring....snow!

That's it I'm going out detecting!

We get rain Friday, maybe it will wash away the rest of the snow. I think the ground is still frozen under it all.

Next week baby!!!!!!!! Snow is melting, rain and 50s tomorrow. I just discover a 1688 map today that showed me some incredible thinGS that I will be investigating next week or weekend. I'm talking some damn early sites with some crazy history. And very hard to get to....just my kind of site

Got perm ?

I do for the place I'm most interested in. Had permission before and had my suspicions of there being some very early settlement in this spot. This map confirmed this plus a whole lot more. Now I have a few new spots to get permission for
