White's Electronics flew us out to Sweet Home Oregon

Todd & myself got invited by White's along with 6 others from across the USA to fly out to meet everyone out there. They have assembled what's called a focus group. They asked us for our imput on what we'd like to see in new products & accessories etc.not sure yet what our job will be as this is in the beginning stages and something they have never done thus far.
Will be interesting to see what develops.
We were given a tour of the facility and met everyone that works there.
A mind blowing experience and every single employee from shipping up to the CEO's were just awesome!
I've always been a White's user and will die one.Just an incredible company that puts out a great machine.
Stay tuned for some new stuff coming out soon that I am very excited about :headbang:

What a great adventure and to be able to meet the folks that have been producing some of the best Metal Detectors ever built for a legendary Company! I purchased my' first White's Metal Detector, a 2000-D in 1979 and it helped me feed my family while I was doing OJT to become an Upper Air Specialist under the Veteran's Retraining Program with the National Weather Service on very low starting pay. The Metal Detector developed an issue with the sound in 1980, so I sent it in to White's for repairs and a hot tune-up. The folks at White's Electronics not only fixed the problem but also checked every circuit, replacing any weak ones, installed upgraded parts and really tuned it up for me. When I got it back, there was not a single land Metal Detector in all of the Florida Keys that could match it for depth. It was unbelievable at what it could find, even when searching where several other Detectorists had already went over. Even my friend, Roy was blown away by it when I found over 30 Mercury and Barber Dimes as well as a couple of Silver Washington Quarters, some Buffalo Nickels and a few Wheat Cents walking in his footsteps where he had gone over a grid line with his' top-of-the-line (at the time) Garrett. The Navy had removed close to 6 inches of top soil off of Peary Court when clearing weeds, bushes and some trees and since I showed up late and there were so many folks there, I was left with cleaning up after them. Although no one other than Roy knew it, I took more coins out of that field than anyone else out their that day and if I remember correctly, I left there with close to 250 coins. Since it was a Training Field with Barracks from the Spanish American War through (I believe) WWII, I was surprised that I did not find a single military button. However, I think those were found by all of the other folks metal detecting there that day. Not long before I left Key West with my' job, I even got a faint signal in the sand on Sands Beach in Key West. It took me some 20 minutes or more with help from several folks walking on the beach to pull the target out of the hole but after 3 feet or more of us digging, I reached in and pulled out a 1953 Franklin Half Dollar (my' Birth year) which looked almost uncirculated.

By the way, I have owned quite a few of the Metal Detectors in the pic of the old White's MD's. I currently own a White's Goldmaster 65-T with 3 coils and a Goldmaster 66-T with 5 coils and even have a black coil like the big black one in the pic. It is so big, that it resembles the Alien Spaceships hovering over the cities in the movie Independence Day, LOL!!

What a cool opportunity. Says a lot that they're willing to bring in the guys that are successful and pick their brains. Most companies believe they're smarter than the rest of us. I like that some of these md companies are actually listening. I was pretty impressed that Tek and Fisher offered an upgrade to deal with some of the issues with their machines. Good industry overall. Enjoy your time fellas. You've certainly earned it

Back in 1971-72(?) their glossy ad won me over. LOL. Then the MXT, DFX and finally after a long search a 6000 DI PRO SL. The 6000 is a coin magnet that I will keep forever. What a chance of a lifetime, to visit their factory!!!
