I'm looking into getting setup on some metal detecting over in the Netherlands in the next year, perhaps 2 (that is the latest).

I'm not looking to spend 4 figures but I'm not looking to spend less than 400-500.

I'm wanting to get setup to detect in most surroundings, detect anything from coins-gold nuggets, etc. I want to also be able to use my detector in water.

So what detector should I look into getting?

Also what tools should I look into getting?

Thanks for all your advice.

Your talking couple different detectors, a coin and jewelry detector is not a good gold nugget detector, good gold nugget detectors are not waterproof.

Need to decide what kind of detecting you will do the most of...

Yup.
Definitely narrow your requirements or be prepared to purchase multiple machines.
Good thing is, you now have TNet to help.

First off, Keep in mind a GOOD Shovel and Pinpointer and then see how much money you have left.. I wish I had those the first 4 months of detecting but i went and tapped myself out on a detector and had to buy subpar equip that is just as important to have

best of luck!
