Hi.
It's my personal observation that "wrap around" coil cables can be a nuisance. Especially detecting in a wooded area.
With mass variations of metal detectors recently released, the norm is still wrap around coil cables. Why?
An internal cable, (enclosed within shaft), saves .9' - 1.4' of cable. (This excludes long cable coils).
This will save manufacturers money , thus saving us money.
Obviously, all metal detector companies dream of a fully wireless machine, (i.e. Deus), that will be affordable and accommodate the masses.
"Wrap Around" cables are outdated.
Thoughts?
Peace ✌

I believe they still use the cable in order to keep the price down using current technology and have the ability to serve the masses. An internal cable would require an opening at both the lower rod and upper rod to allow for the plug to pass through, which in turn would create 2 weak points on the shaft assembly. JMHO

Well said Loco and understood.
Yet Minelab would disagree.
The ETRac is nearly a decade old and in it's inception had an internal cable.
Not much breakage?
Peace ✌
