Zip Top Pulltabs.

How many of these have you guys found? I have found only three, which is not at all a bad thing because I would hate to dig anymore pull tabs than I have to. I Just curious how many you guys have found.

I've often wondered about the design of these tabs.
I don't find many, compared to others.
Still, I'd rather have a ring �� in the bag.
What beverage did they unleash?

They were only used from 1962 until 1964 if I'm correct, they were the first style of pull tab made. These pull tabs, a brand new invention were mainly used on some beer cans and maybe some kinds of soda. Being new technology not every can company used them until a few years, by that point they were already making ring style pull tabs.

You have some mighty fine early examples of zip-tops. These are to be treasured and should find a valued place in your display case.

Most people don't find any in this fine of condition. Something to be proud of!

The one with the dimples is a late '63. Very rare.

I hope you understand that these are over 50 years old and now considered 'Historical Artifacts', and should be treated as such.

I have found a few of these and trashed them thought they were off of tomato juice cans. I'll know better know.

Wow, I had no idea they were that rare. I found two together with the top of a can (I kept it ), the one in bad shape was found else where. I set them aside as novelty and for my pull tab type set . I have to admit, I was excited about these but did not want to show that I was excited about finding a pull tab.

My guess is they date to the Late 50's early 60's.

Being OCD, I clean them up & put them in with my other Pull=Tabs For Ronald MacDonald House, or other Charities.

I have Kept a few tho.

According what I have read the concept of the pull tab was invented in 1959, the first pull tabs, the zip tops, were made from 1962-1964.
