Prime example of another state or entities greed.
I hope the courts award them the money and give another 5 million "kicker" for breach.

Was not good enough for the state to give them a peasants fee... they want it all... and screw the guys who found it...
Risked everything to achieve.
And the State did nothing...
Spent nothing...
Risked nothing...

I get sick to my gut over the pure lameness and unfairness of this.

If states keep making everything so difficult - people will stop doing everything legally and start being secretive and doing things illegally. That pattern has occured on just about everything since the beginning of time. Shame but I bet there will be lots more stuff entering private collections without the states knowledge in the next 10-15 years.

That's why more and more treasure hunters are becoming pirates. They find treasure and don't report it. The state loses everything including the history. I guess the state would rather have this.
