I been MDing for years, but never really serious. So I have collected various machines over the years which my wife thinks I am nuts and a MD hoarder. Many of these machines I have used and some I let friends use. They are not the newer and greatest, but heck they have come into my collection little by little over a 10 year span. I would love to buy one of the newer fancy machines, but cant see myself investing in that until I find something of truer value that warrants me to do so. For now I just like to tinker around with coins and artifacts, however if I started finding some rings I will surely invest in a far more expensive machine.

I have thousands in Photography / video gear, cause that is my biggest passion, MDing is my second greatest passion. Yet I am certain now that my son and I are doing it together, it will surely surpass my photography passion.

I've got it too. In fact, I have about twice as many as you list although I have parted with a couple recently. Darn hobby can be very addictive, lol.

Your among friends George. I could not let go of my Whites 4900 DL even tho it doesn't work and I got a new detector. Also I hoard my finds...even the trashy ones. And I am the "family nut" because I am the only one who MD's.
Welcome to our circle of MD'er addicts.

Back in the early 80's I'd accumulated 10 detectors at once. Now I have only 3 :) Of course I sent my ETrac back on RMA today. I know I'll have to buy it back, but it depends on how much it will cost to fix. I may have a bunch of add-ons to post on the For Sale forum (for Charter Members only).....

Looks like you have enough firepower there to get anything done that needs doing in the realm of dirt fishing. Just because they're old doesn't mean they're defunct. Even an old BFO in capable hands can be a real money maker. Good luck on your machine collecting and your treasure hunting!

Various 1980s detectors show up on CL here. Cheap too. Thought about starting a collection?
