Hey guys,
I am new here, in fact this is my first post so let me briefly introduce myself. My name is Myke Clarkson and I am a television producer (development executive) for a production company that is looking into several different treasure realms. So any good ideas on that front, please hit me up! Also I am looking for Relic restoration folks. People who find relics and artifacts and restore them. We are looking for people that are skillful at their craft, and willing to be in front of the camera since they will be the shows stars.

If this sounds like you, or someone you know hit me up via email!

American Pickers is a very successful program, but it's more antiques in general.
We are looking to the Relic version. So picture older, more historical, less vintage.

You have several members here who excel at restorations. You also have the guys we send things off to be restored. You will notice our cleaning and preservation section shows a lot of before and afters. Some people think things should be left in their original condition with out restorations others see a restorations as better for display.
Good luck!

Relics are antiques and vice versa when the antiques is beat to hell.An antique is an item 100 years old or older(not counting cars),to classify an item as vintage it has to be 25 years old.

Why not contact a museum and show restoration curators doing it properly so we can ALL learn?

I'm disgusted that the "History Channel" uses sensationalist hacks instead of actually contacting people with credentials in their field.

Is this going to be "Preserving Ancient Alien Relics"? There are some very skilled people here but they may not want to be associated with freak show TV.

Good advice from Charlie P. Museum restoration experts are the way to go. There are private firms that do restoration. Quality? It can get very expensive...

It is one thing to preserve an item it is another to restore it.
Most of us just preserve.
I have to admit though when my electrolysis bucket first starts bubbling that old rusty "what is it" iron blob, it gets pretty darn exciting!

Is that the group that lied to the scientists to get them to appear in "Voodoo Sharks" and creatively audited their comments?

Shame, shame.

If only the History Channel truly cared about history and fact searching. What a waste.

Ricks Restorations is also a pretty successful TV show.
I try not to miss a show!.
That's the trouble with these shows - most have already been done... and there's no prize for second!.
