Try checking Coins and Currency: An Historical Encyclopedia by Mary Ellen Snodgrass and A Guide Book of United States Coins by Kenneth Bressett and R. S. Yeoman.

Thank You For the response - I do have the Guide Book of U.S. Coins Stacey , I specifically was looking for a guide to English Coins ,
after a period of time with no responses , I took the question to a treasurenet member who lives in England. He referred me to
A guide to Coins of England and the United Kingdom - by Spink . (Welcome to T-net !!)
