31" Sampson T-Handle is about my favorite all around shovel. The Predator Raptor Model 31 is another good tool to have and a little less intrusive looking for public places.

If I didn't break mine last year hunting in the frozen ground, you wont. This thing is tough as h.!! Broke my old one several times. It's a little pricy but well worth it.

Oh, price didn't matter to me actually. A friend of mine wanted some particular style arrowheads made, so I knapped them out and made a trade for a brand new shovel! :-) :-)

The diggers use the
Lesche Sampson Pro-Series T-Handle Shovel with Serrated Blade 31” Tall
I have one and use it in places that I don't want to scare anyone.
Kellyco sells it, but I can't find one with the serrated edge. Here is the link:
Sampson T Handle Shovel - Kellyco
BigBoys sells it also... http://www.bigboyshobbies.net/sampson-digging-t-handle

The other shovel that I feel is a must is the Piranha. It's great for places that you don't have to worry about what digging tool you have, such as fields. You can get it here:
Products | Predatortools

If there are site sponsors who sell it as well, please post those and I apologize if the links I have given are not site sponsors.

I got mine from Predator about 5 years ago. Still trying to wear it out. Sadly I believe it will out live me.

Just a cautionary note - these are out in the woods or fields shovels, not for manicured lawns, parks or playgrounds.

Not true.... the Sampson will dig the best plug you can dig. So much better than any hand digger... Yes I have the best hand diggers too... :)

Agreed. I use the Sampson for parks and some lawns. I show it to the lawn owner and get their approval. If not, I use the Lesche.

I used to think I was pretty awesome with the hand held Lesche.... Moist soil especially. But the Sampson, makes a great plug just about anywhere!! (You can't count sand!! Ha ha)

I have the 37-1/2" ball handle (Dixie 58) and it is a great digging tool. We use ours around the yard/gardens/farm all the time as well.
