Over the summer I got permission to detect 2 houses by the same owner that were built in 1850 or so. I found some things in the yard, but the fields (of them) had crops in them and were off limits until now. I have an AT PRO with the standard coil and a smaller coil. I am looking for advice as to which coil to use. The standard coil that came with the detector? Or do you recommend going to a bigger coil? I know there are 15" coils that are compatible with the AT PRO. I read that going with a large coil to save time and just flag detections and go back over the flags with the standard coil. Thoughts?...Brad

In an open field I wouldn't expect to much trash so I would use the larger coil to cover more ground. Target separation wouldn't be a priority for me.

Go ahead and hunt with the stock coil until your big coil arrives.

Thanks y'all. I am going to take your collective advice and use the stock coil and order the Big Nel 15" by 17" or the next smaller size 15" by 15". Thanks again and happy hunting...Brad
