Places in Oregon to hunt?

I'm just getting started in metal detecting (I'm still waiting for my detector to get here) and i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to start this new hobby? Without giving away your mother load.Eastern side of Oregon would be great.
Also places I could go to research area to hunt.
