Cool story. But did you see all that dried mud silt ? Looks like silting would have ruined any detecting anyhow. In the low-lakes in CA, this is an issue wherever bottom flats are @ the exposed bottoms. But if the side is sloped, I've noticed that it doesn't tend to be silted in those spots.

And don't ya just love the purist archie quote ? :

Well I got news for her: Perhaps at HER particular federal lake right there. But no, not at all "public land". People md public land ALL THE TIME and "collect items", haha

Yep, Big incorrect blanket statement by her on MD public lands -

I can see what you mean by silting - we just don't get dry years like this on the Northwet coast to get used to seeing our lake beds - :)
