rock hounding (for free) in N. Ga.

I am an amateur rock/gem/mineral collector in Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga. between Ringgold, Ga. and Chattanooga, Tn.....where can I go in this immediate area to find the rocks/gems, etc I collect ?
