Garrett AT Pro W Stock coil, Fisher F2 W 8" Concentric and 9.5" NEL DD, XPointer pin pointer
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I made a purchase on eBay for a metal detector to keep in the event that my in-laws or grandchildren want to tag along with grandpa on a hunt.
I bought a bounty hunter gold digger "new out of box" for 32.00.
I figured I would have this, my old pouch, my pin pointer I got with my F2, and a digging tool as a quick grab kit for whoever wants to go.
Does anyone else use a quick grab detector for times like this?
I read great reviews on the gold digger and figured even the most novice detectorist can have fun and find "treasures" with it.

IMO it is one of the most underrated detectors on the market at the $60 it is normally found at. My wife and I "borrowed" it from my son daily while he was at school...until we got our own.

Has a blazing fast recovery speed....stupid fast...
Will pass the unmask AND recovery aspects of Montes nail board test with flying colors....(this alone is worth $60 IMO as plenty of $300+ detectors fail it)
Will hit a coin in very high mineral and compact Colorado dirt at 5 inches....
Will disc out....iron...foil...pulltabs...5c...zinc....with a fantastic broken tone that is unmistakable even for a child...

No..it is not the best detector in the world. It is not a depth monster...not full of features...but IMO a great starter detector or a "throw in the truck" detector. It will absolutely clear the top 5 inches of any park....as it is a coin monster.

Here a few vids of it on my YT channel if interested...

Bought my 11 year old son a minelab go find 60 for Christmas. It works pretty good for him and I can through it in my truck and take with me. I've played with it some and it seems like it works just fine. It's fun to mess with.
