First and foremost, a hearty thanks and my sincere appreciation goes out to the 95 forumites who have chosen to respond to the free giveaway challenge. The interest generated towards my post gave me the extra boost of motivation to get out there for a total of exactly 8.0 hours and hit it "hard"! Surprisingly enough, I am still standing upright and did not sustain any injuries during the course of the day.

The challenge was to provide your best guess to the number of US coins I would recover in an 8-hour period. I visited 3 local city parks and one middle school from 6AM until 2PM. My goal was to.... "Survive it".

Your top three finishers in REVERSE order are:

(3) HOTHGAR 167

(2) HISTORYHUNTER 157

(1) And your winner is... (see pic)

My calculations from your warm up hunt were almost right on....Oh well...

Well I did guess 73 but with this new information I'm thinking about changing it to 165.

Theory: 1.5 hours equals 33 coins which averages 11 coins in 30 minutes. For an 8 hour hunt at that rate you should recover 176 coins but with such a long hunt you will most likely take a break or two to drink and/or eat. Let say 30 minutes worth of breaks. 176-11=165.

So 165 would be the smart guess but I'll stick to my original 73. lol (wife was born in 1973)

Good luck

Forgive me for having so little faith; I only guessed 88. You must be exhausted, still!
