I sincerely want to thank all who posted on this thread. We are working through the grief & thank God we still have two dogs to keep us occupied. Skeeter is still missed though and he will always be in our hearts.

Here's to Skeeter, He lived a good long life. :occasion14:

Dang, feel your pain, to me it's worse then loosing a family member. I too cried like a baby when I had to have Sargent put down. Smartest German Shepard I've ever known. What made it worse for me on the final day was in the Vet's office, Sargent would never take a treat from a stranger, yet that morning he was taking them left and right from the staff, who also couldn't contain their tears.

Ah crap, can't see the screen now because of the tears.
