Hello to all. Thanks to all of you who participated in my contest.

I just wanted to say one thing. When I started this contest, I just wanted to give back to the good folks at TNet as I owe a lot to you all for the inspriration and fun that I have had here since joining in May 2006. I in no way meant to show anyone up, or try to make it look like I am any better than any member on the site. We all have our strengths and each one of us get out of the hobby something that keeps us coming back. For me, I specialize in cherry picking the playground woodchips with my 27 year old Garrett TR detector. I have a certain way of doing things and am a madman swinging out there while I am treasure hunting. We also are all on a different path in our learning curve. I have been detecting 30 years now, so yes, I have been around, but I know there are tons of you that are better detectorists than me, and I can live with that. I just love dooing what I doo!! Anyway, I just wanted to make sure you all know that I really do not want to offend anyone with the amount of treasure I found, or be compared to anyone elses finds in a negative way.

Here's a link to the original thread.

I am done and have figured out who the winners are. It took me over 4 hours to clean, count , and photograph my finds. I had an outstanding weekend. It just goes to show you, if you are motivated and insprired, doo your research, and get lucky, good things can happen. I set new personal bests yesterday in coins found in one day and today for the face value of the coins found. Two outstanding days in a row! Plus a nice amount of keepers and other interesting finds.

Here's a link right under here to a "Today's Finds" thread that will show all my finds, school by school in detail.

Some are waiting to see who the winners are sooooo
insert drum roll here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First Place:
DesPlains_IL_SilverBob with a guess of 696 coins found
Congrats Bob!!!

Second Place:
Waltripcrew with a guess of 611 coins found
Congrats Jeff!

Third Place:
Shermanville Illinois with a guess of 1000 coins found.
WTG Sherm!

No one guessed the exact amount of coins found so the "Bonus Prize" goes unclaimed. I guess I get to keep the $46.72 I found during the two day contest hunts. I had 5 hours hunt time yesterday, found 390 coins for a $18.44 face vlaue and today hunted 5-1/2 hours finding 369 coins for a $28.38 face value.

The Two Day Total and the winning number is 759 coins found = $46.72!!!

Congratulations to the winners. I will be sending you all a PM tonight sometime (I need to eat and rest a bit...lol) asking for your address so I can mail you you prize.

Thanks again to you all.

Here's some photos of the clad pile and also the trash pile from my 10-1/2 hours of hunting this weekend. I added a 6 inch ruler to give some scale to the clad photo. The trash is spread out on a brown paper full size grocery bag which is about 2 ft x 1 ft size laying flat.

Like I mentioned above, I will post a new thread in Today's Finds with a lot more photos of the contest hunt finds.

Thanks and congrats to the winners.

Smiles!
BDoo

BDoo,
Members of Treasure Net, Brother and
Sister Md'ers

I am very happy to be here with you
today and receive the 3rd prize for this
contest. I feel honored, humbled and
deeply moved that I should receive
this important prize being a simple
Md'er from Illinois :) I am no one special :).
But I believe the prize is a recognition
of the true value of this site, love,
compassion; which I try to practice. :)

I accept the prize, from BDoo, with profound
gratitude on behalf of all Md'ers everywhere and
for all those who struggle for that next find.
I accept it as a tribute to all of us who
come to T Net . And, of course, I accept
it on behalf of all who entered the contest.
The prize reaffirms my conviction that I am
wonderful. ;D

No matter what part of the world we hunt,
we are all basically the same human
beings. We all seek that big find. We have
the same basic human needs and concerns.

To all those who had no idea how well BDoo
would do, my concern extends to you and all
members of the T-Net and the human family,
and indeed, to all sentient beings who suffered.
I believe all suffering is caused by ignorance.
How could some of you be off by so much? :-\ This
was BDoo hunting.

BDoo, is the prize in the mail yet?

Thank you. Neat contest.

;) ;D :P

always humble...................
all have a good un..............

Hehe, I guess I was just a bit "off" with my guess. I don't think I could even dig that many holes over a weekend and still walk, much less be awake to count them all and post the winners :)

Congrats BDoo. This has been the highlight of my weekend. I'm very glad you beat my estimate by almost 300. Truly spectacular. Well done.

How come on Sherm, did you really think he would hit 1000, or do you just watch a lot of "Price is Right" and know good strategy? ;D

Congrats to all the winners.

Sheldius,

do not watch a lot of anything.

BDoo is not telling, but I think he was
a bit under the weather.

Summer cold, allergies, something slowed
him down.

But he went ahead anyway because he knew
I was expecting a prize ;) ;D

Thanks BDoo.

have a good un.....

Hey, I think some magazine would really like this inspirational story. Maybe you should go through the posting and craft it into an article since you are writing it up anyway. 759 coins in 10.5 hours plus other keepers has got to be worth publishing somewhere.

holy cow! that mean if you were hunting 24 hours a day for 2 days you'd have found a coin every 3.79 minutes! dang did you find a bag of pennies or something?

amazing.

Congrats to the winners! and thanks for the cool contest BDoo!
