it works fine on any beach,salt or not.in fact it is perfect for wet salt sand or shallow diving

Question: Why do you want a pinpointer for the beach? SANDSCOOP. You need a sandscoop, not a pinpointer.

A pin pointer is great but what Terry says is true.The sand will keep falling back in whatever hole you dig so a scoop is definitely a must have.

Question: Why do you want a pinpointer for the beach? SANDSCOOP. You need a sandscoop, not a pinpointer.

It's not for finding the target in the hole, it helps if you are trying to find the target in sand or mud you have dumped out of your scoop.
