Finally starting to recover from the jet lag and my orchard which desperately needed some mowing. When I say mowing I mean bush hog on a skid steer, 8-9ft tall weeds!
These are the finds from Armenia. I got to hunt an abandon mountain fortress and a couple other places. The good finds all came from the fortress. I saved that piece of etched copper, and later in the museum I saw knife sheaths made like that and etched in similar style.
I took my Deus and my CTX 3030 to Russia, but only took my CTX to Armenia. I wish I had taken the Deus also, because I ran into ground mineralization down in Southern Armenia that was horrible. My CTX was recommending a ground setting of 1-5 almost everywhere. I tried ground/coin mode and ferrous/coin mode and nothing would work. My wedding ring would only register if it was actually touching the coil.
I took the machines in my carry on everywhere. Didn't loose or break anything, but I did have to pull them out at almost every X-ray machine. They especially were not sure about my pinpointer lol.
Antique dealer at the market in Yerevan wanted to buy this ring. When I said no, he told me it was bronze age. Its definitely bronze, but another antique dealer said its only 2000 years old!! I'll mark that one up as a win!
Same dealer told me this was a "gruzian" coin, Georgian Kingdom, from the 1500's. Im not seeing any from that time frame that look like this, but there are some from 1700's that have similar patterns.
Lots of shrapnel, slugs, casings. Didn't get past airport security in Rostov with the rear half of that mortar!
Real good haul at a hunting camp a friend told me used to be used by the czars. Found quite a few lead champagne seals there. Found a couple 4 gauge shell ends I think, they are massive. Got nervous after my airport scare with the mortar so I got rid of the shotgun ends before I had to go thru security in Moscow.
WWII Relics. Ended up digging so many casings that I quit keeping them.
