I always think that I'm outdoors, getting wonderful exercise, enjoying talking to people about what I'm doing and IF I also find something worthwhile, that's gravy.
If I find nothing but junk at least I enjoyed being outdoors taking in nature, I've honed my skills, I've removed trash and the activity has contributed to good health, and the next target can always be my best find.
Finders keepers losers weepers.
Finders, keepers is an English adage with the premise that when something is unowned or abandoned, whoever finds it first can claim it. This idiom relates to an ancient Roman law of similar meaning and has been expressed in various ways over the centuries.[1] Of particular difficulty is how best to define when exactly something is unowned or abandoned, which can lead to legal or ethical disputes.
