success full middle age man taking up detecting and treasure hunting. Say's what he would Really like.. necessary in fact.. is a motorcycle. Maybe in a trailer on his new truck? Wife sees bike catalogs in the mail and "reminds" him you have a family. we love (need your income) and you will poke your eye ot or worse. No motorcycles.. you will Kill yourself.

As some of us would do, guy searches bikes on the web. Especially you.tube VLOGS. I am IN he thinks.

Wife enters the room to use the printer. guy switches off the monitor.. Hey Babe what do you need?? a little sweat on his lip.

What were you looking at that you did not want me to see? Guy, embarassed.. Porn Sorry Babe..
NO You were looking at Motorcycles. can't get away with a darn thing anymore..

First picked up a detector in 1970, got on a bike in 1971, both while I was in the Navy.
Purchased my first new bike in 1985. Been riding and detecting for a long time.
Isn't it amazing how some people have the power to dictate what we can and can't do. lol

Ah heck, do what I did. "needed" a pit bike, buddy had an old one, "Just needs a motor". Explained to wife I was building it for my son, who drives the race car.

Free bike has now over $600.00 invested into it. Not counting labor. I could have gone and bought a new one for what I've invested in it. :BangHead:

This is true, I'm pretty good at it, but try doing it on a larger scale. Like race car front bumper cover $3000.00, Wheels, $2400.00 And on and on, especially when you return home after a bad weekend at the track like this.

Over 45 years of Civil War relic hunting Ive had over 15 detectors and 3 wives, so do the math. I could have purchased the best CW collection in the world with what I paid for the wives.

Had a buddy that had a gimp as he put it. We'd go to vehicle swap meets. He'd find a nice bike and stand back a little from the guys stall, fanning and counting a pile of 100s until he caught the sellers eye. He'd waddle up (his terminology) and start asking a ton of questions. His last question was "Where's the spare tire go?" then he'd say "Hell, no spare no sale". If we'd had the small video cameras we have now I'd have a great vid of guys scratching their heads and the expressions. Can't count how many times we almost wet ourselves laughing. That would've been a video in itself.

Wiseman said, "Why buy something when you can make it yourself?"
