Fuzzy, that looks a bit complicated, and uses the unit power?

To add blutooth to any unit with a headphone jack....

Look up Blutooth transmitter, self powered, plugs into the headphone jack (or with adapter) and powers blutooth headphones.... about $15-$25



This particular unit can be xmit and rec, so you can plug normal earphones into this for receive, instead of a blutooth headphones...

no need to use the detectors power supply.



recharge them with a typical cell phone portable battery in the field

I have used a similar product, not this particular one. I had blutooth headphones, so I only used a transmitter. Works very well, especially with no headphone cord in the way. Not sure how long this one lasts, but mine is about 4 hours on a charge. Just look for the internal battery size...

Mine is a Logitech, and was about $40.

EDIT: look for ones that say low delay/low latency...and given the numbers of them out there, perhaps check a local store to see if it really is low delay.

I don't believe it uses the units power, it likely has a built in lithium battery. One unit is the transmitter the other is receiver, and not Bluetooth but RF for no latency. The specs are not out just the pictures

okay, I see, there are just a lot of cables shown.

Latency may be an issue with music, but in reality, 40ms latency is not going to affect the MD signal. I have had no issues, but simply brought it up, as the units can be useful for other things aside from the detector.

I look at blutooth, as your TX/RX device is encrypted, and frequency are paired, one/one, so interference is never an issue.
RF can have interference, especially in areas where there is a lot of RF traffic. Other RF wireless headsets run on different frequencies, from 900MHz to 3.2GHz. Sometimes you can run into interference with the 900MHz headsets with cordless phones, the 2.4GHz headsets, and WiFi connections like wireless routers.

Blutooth is low energy, and only broadcasts when there is something to broadcast, so the battery life will be significantly longer than RF.
