Just found out that the good ole USAF is shipping me to Kadena AFB, Japan. Does anyone know about MDing there i.e. been there done that or know of someone who has? Any intersting stories or leads? I know there was a lot of WWII action on the island, but not a lot else. Hope I will be able to detect while I am there for the next couple of years it would be a shame to put my MXT in the corner.

A friend of mine was stationed at a Marine base in Japan, in the late '80s/early '90s. He saw a fellow marine with a detector, that went detecting there frequently, both on and off base. Probably wasn't hardcore ancient treasure type detecting, but rather just beaches, parks, etc.... He said the md'r never had any problems, that he heard of.
