Kudos to those who read my explanation - that this thread was intended to be focussed on rather common obsolete type coins- not bucket list , or dream coins . Please no more gold coins , pine tree shillings , I'm looking for my first Indian Head Cent .Many of you are looking for your first mercury dime , or buffalo nickel , perhaps large cent . This is the spirit of the thread - Thank's

Tenth year saying it: Please let me dig a silver quarter. Don't care if it's a 64 Washington, any kind as long as its silver.

Ok , this thread has gone off the rails - help ! can anybody tell me how to delete a thread ? (I'll try again soon )

But everyone does off the rails so well. Stopping it is kind of like holding the tide back.

Any post 1800 US silver coin (excluding barber dime). People were very poor in my area and rarely dropped any silver. And in the late 1800's and onward when my area had more money, everything was more industrial. Only 2 US silvers I found were a 1943 Nickel and a 1904 Barber Dime. I have found triple the amount of colonial coppers than Indian Head Cents and Wheaties for some weird reason! Surprised I don't find more considering all the 1800's and early 1900's shotgun shells where I metal detect.
