Not a bit. Coils these days are epoxy filled and quite robust, the temp isn't going to affect performance or structure. Don't use it to "plow through" the snow as you'll either snap a shaft off or have a really sore arm later but yes,you can do it. As always, don't be banging it off of rocks and trees, that's in all conditions though...

Yep,it's supposed to be enjoyable, and if it's cold enough where it's not enjoyable,I have other things to do.

Snow hunting requires using low frequency coils/detectors. Low frequency could be 3 kHz, 4 kHz, 5 kHz. The best would be 3 kHz. The lower frequency is, the more sensitivity could be added. More over, low frequencies have less depth impact by large distance between coil and ground as if it was a middle or high frequency coil. The larger coil is the deeper it will go.

PS. You have a great Rotty :notworthy:

If your detector is Minelab then the operating frequency is 1,5 kHz. Just get a large coil

Consider having Mars MD Goliath (15"), check 3 kHz. As to Minelab Explorer SE, I don't know what frequencies it run
Sorry for the late reply. I still cannot figure out how notification system works here...

Thanks for getting back to me. It has the same frequencies as etrack i think it just has a bit slower processer than on etrack.
