When I look at peoples pro folio on the side next to the comment section, I have notice some people have the name of their metal detector(s) there.
I have also noticed some have more than one, heck some have three or four. So i was kind of wondering, if its not being to personal how many do you have and which ones?

We have one ( as of now ) The AT PRO..... I can see future expanding coming soon. :headbang:

I have an AT Pro... but I have not used it since I got the Deus. I like the Deus and use it religiously. I am barely smart enough to use one detector, so more than one would simply confuse me.

The detector that YOU know best... is the best!

I have the Ace 250, AT Pro and the Makro Racer 2. I keep the Ace 250 for friends wanting to try it out, the AT Pro for the water searches and when it's pouring outside and the Racer 2 for everything else.

There are a lot that I have not heard of since reading on here. I'm going to have to do some research on them. I want us to both have one, just think it would be better to have two different ones. Maybe the next one that does one or two specific things. I have time so lots of research to do, but will learn and enjoy this first.

Most of the last ten years or so I have had three detectors. One for land, one for water and a a third which has been a string of different detectors that I used as a loaner when detectorless newbies wanted to hunt with me, and also as my excuse to try out new detectors. Currently I have my main two but can't decide what to buy for number 3.

I have two. I started off with a very lightly used Teknetics T2 (it was like new!). Based on researching the different detectors I decided it met the basic needs for the type of detecting I was interested in (relics), and was a pretty easy unit to learn to use. It was reasonably priced to start out with or one that I could easily sell should I change my mind about detecting as a hobby.

Having made the decision that I really enjoy the hobby I then decided to step up my game and bought an XP Deus from a fellow TNet member (which again, was like new!). I decided to keep the T2 as a back up and so that friends or family who didn't have a detector could go along with me if they wanted.

The homebuilts are kits. A guy in England sells them.

There is an internet group that is comprised of engineers discuss MD circuit designs.

They will find info on an out-of-production machine, analyze the schematic and end up improving on the design.

Ultimately someone will prototype it and this guy gets boards made and sells kits, almost plug and play.

You do need good solder skills and some test equipment to tune it, but it is well within reach of a hobby electronics enthusiast.

If I don't use a detector much, It will not be a dust collector for long. I sell it before it depreciates more.
