Thanks Dave! Im feeling a feeling. Just need to learn what its telling me..

I get that in the morning... I found out it just means I need to go to the bathroom.

I got my AT Pro on Thursday. Took it out yesterday for my first run in an open field. Pulled a 64 nickle, 82 quarter, and 96 dime. Bunch of trash too... still trying to associate the numbers and tones. I'm a huge fan of the pro mode. It's amazing that you can literally gauge the size and shape of an object 6 inches down based on the readings. Best purchase I've made in a while.

Hello SteveOrygun,

Congratualtions on the AT Pro, it's a real workhorse!

IMHO: Set in Pro Mode, iron disc around 18, sens=7/8. I use the iron audio=on, but many just use to check a target, your preference. Always Ground Balance and check occasionally while hunting (just takes a few seconds). I would dig everything from 50 - up, yes you will get lots of trash, but you will not miss any coins and most jewelry. Once you feel comfortable you can lower the initial number a bit, since small gold lives around 38 - 49, but so does foil and other junk. I have found gold jewelry from 38 - 69 on the AT Pro and AT Gold.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting

I was running 8 sensitivity with iron disc at 29. Tried the iron audio but wasn't a fan. I do like that with my settings coins are clear signals. Trash has a little grunt tone on either ends of the signal. The only thing that's thrown me for a loop have been soda cans. They sound coinish. I did figure out after my fourth can or so how to read or gauge the size and shape. If it resembled something boxy it was probably a buried crushed can.

IMG_1980.JPG Fresh from
the field!

First I picked up some stuff and made a digging LBE.. simple and will work fine.

Next i planned on going to a park open to detecting, find the boundrys, get to swinging, but gate was closed, opens May 1. So a quick scout has me lined out on where not to go, simple.

Then found another place Army Corp. park. Off i went! Found trash.

And.....

A 57 Wheat!
An '84 dime..

Leasson learned, no more digging 91 that say 10" depth.. junk..

Going to try Docs program..
