That's a tough one to learn on, but there are some good tutorials on YouTube. Good luck, and welcome to the hobby and the forum.

I use the DFX and hunt in relic mode 99% of the time. Plant a test garden with various coins and some iron(nails will work) to see how they ring up. Remember "low and slow". Keep the coil as close to the ground as you can and keep it flat as you sweep it in an arc. I Have had very good luck with my DFX. You just have to learn what it is trying to tell you and that only comes with practice.

What kind of areas are you hunting? Trashy parks? Woods” Ocean? The dfx can handle them all. To start just stick with one of the default programs. The tone Id can be a bit overwhelming in the beginning. Try hitting a local park and keep your discrimination high to just hunt for coins and silver. That will help to break you in and make some nice finds while your learning your machine..
