What makes America great it is its diversity.

I was not aware of that.

Can you tell me how diversity makes America great?

Edited to add, You ever read a Washington quarter dollar?

It says "Liberty, In God We Trust, and E. Pluribus Unum". E pluribus unum is Latin for " Out of many One".

No diversity, much less superficial diversity of skin color. If color doesn't matter it doesn't matter. Why assign any race to the coin whatsoever?

To recognize one, is to not recognize another. Putting one's attributes above another(whether it be race, creed, color, or religion) is discrimination, is it not?

I just reread your comment. I miss interpreted what you we're saying I do apologize.

Why put a face on any coin, there are many beautiful coins that never had a bust on them. As soon as you put someones face on a coin it offends someone else. I have had the honer of finding a very rare pillar dollar and it is still my favorite design as soon as they switched the pillars and globes to a bust I felt the coin started to decline in popularity. After all for every great king or ruler or even a gods depiction there was someone who opposed them. So why not leave busts, portraits, and faces off coins. Stick to symbols and signs to represent money. View attachment 1456365

283 years in the sand and cleaned up like this. Back when money was made to last. Modern clad wouldnt last 2 or 3 years in the sand. Cant even design a coin without offending someone these days. Please anyone one who is offended by there money or coins please feel free to send those offensive coins to me and ill get them out of your site.

Did you find that beauty? What a incredible coin. Very valuable I'd say. Gorgeous

Liberty means to be able to act or speak freely, most of the ethnic depictions they plan on coming out with in the country they came from they don't have liberty like we do so I think she should have stayed the same. If it's been good enough all these years I don't see the need to change now. HH
Better get used to it, boys. Here's a write-up pertaining to the future releases of this coin:

"The gold coin introduces a new biennial design series where Liberty reflects the cultural and ethnic diversity of the United States. Forthcoming coins will show Lady Liberty portrayed as an Asian-American, Hispanic-American, and Indian-American among others, according to the U.S. Mint.

I once bought 50 Sacagawea coins from a guy for $40. I just smiled and gave him two 20 dollar bills.

I bought 60 dollars worth of gaming chips for 20 bucks from a vegas casino! Next trip to vegas cashed them in! being as though 14% of Americans think that chocolate milk comes from brown cows, it is not hard to believe they stink at math as well:)

All the coins now are junk metal anyway, except the silver and gold coins but there only for collecting and not for circulation anyway so finding the good stuff is going to be all old coins which are way cooler design than the new stuff anyway. HH
The design of American coinage has declined for a while now - I think it's safe to say that most of us really like the "merc.", the Walking Liberty , the Standing Liberty (quarter) , the buffalo nickel , the Morgan and Peace dollars - and the Indian Gold pieces , and the Double Eagles . I think the Franklin half is well designed also. Many of the more recent designs lack beauty . I'm sure the intent was sincere but look at the Susan B. Anthony dollar ,in my opinion it is a very poor design . Ms. Anthony deserved better ! I was apalled at how the once noble Lincoln cent has degenerated into the sad piece of rubbish that many of us derisively refer to as the zincoln cent. In my estimation the entire dollar coin varieties after the Peace dollar , have been an insult to the denomination - Ike , Susan B. , Sac., presidentials ,all of them . I favor honoring the many great people of Native , or African ( other) heritage whose contributions to this great nation have not been given recognition that is due them , I only hope we can invoke some of the artistry that was foremost in American coinage at the turn of the twentieth century .

I personally don't like the coin at all. A coin should represent Americas depiction of Lady Liberty as we know it. As all races of Americans know it. This is Lady Liberty. It is like making a coin depicting Santa Claus and putting a picture of AL Pacino on the coin. That is NOT Santa Claus. We put Sacagawea on a coin and everyone knew that she is the Native American that lead Louis and Clark. You would not place this lady on the dollar coin and say it represents the person that led Louis and Clark? It would not make sense to any race. With that said, I am not racist. Though I believe that we (ALL races) are to some extent. I just don't think that this coin sends the message. I however would welcome and love to see George Washington Carver, Colin Powell and Rosa Parks on a gold coin. Representing their great selves, not Santa Claus.

Did I pull that off without getting myself banned? I hope so.

No its traditional. I'm a traditionalist, so when things start changed and moving in different directions where does it end? In 2018 will Lady Liberty have a different private? And during these times that not a far stretch, is it not?

I hate to break it to you but I heard that 2018 they are considering Bruce Jenner!

If they want to make a coin that glorifies diversity, then make a commemorative doing so. As to who you would put on it, good luck as there are 100's of ethnic cultures in America.

Lady Liberty(*note caps which denotes a proper name) is Lady Liberty as she has her own identity. Would you put someone who is Chinese as George Washington? He has his own identity. This is a matter of changing the identity of an established representation of Lady Liberty, which is wrong.

The Sacajawea dollar is a prime example. She has her own identity, are we going to change her identity to fit an agenda? Is that right? What about the Indian Princess penny(Indian head)? She has an established identity. Are we going to put a Pennsylvania Dutch man on there and call him an Indian Princess? Starting to make sense?

I don't expect anything less from the far left. They are fighting about the street names down here. They don't want streets with RACIST Confederate generals names on them anymore. Ridiculous.

Does anyone know exactly when we stopped referring to ourselves as "Americans"? This multicultural diversity politically correct nonsense is just another self-serving manifestation of a mental disorder in my opinion. The purposely dumbed down masses are behaving like five year olds throwing temper tantrums over the least significant-relevant subjects. According to our constitution we are ALL created equal. It seems some folks in the VAST minority will not be satisfied unless they can kick, bite, and claw their way to the top of the heap with a "special" government ordained status being provided just for them. I am so tired of the immaturity of these children pretending to be the next Martin Luther King.

Look at what they did to our monuments here in New Orleans. Now they're just just brink stumps with graffiti.
