Notice he did not order it, there is no law against the treasure hunt. It is each person's obligation to ensure their own safety. There were over 21 sky diving deaths in 2016, but you don't see the police requesting they stop sky diving. We do not need nor want a nanny state.

One of Ouray’s first dairies was Jim Brown’s Riverside Dairy located in the small flat where the Box Canyon Road leaves the one leading to Sneffels (today’s Camp Bird Road). Just past his dairy the road began a steep climb that today is still known as “Jim Brown Hill.” He sold milk to the Revenue Mine and, in 1896, needing much more space he moved the dairy to the Bachelor Switch area two miles north of Ouray. The Bachelor Switch was a station on the D&RG Railroad on the east side of the Uncompahgre River in front of today’s Whispering Pines Subdivision. By 1900 Brown had changed the name of the dairy to the Revenue Dairy. At that time he was delivering 70 to 100 gallons of milk per day to the Revenue Mine!

On his Facebook page, someone that I believe to be his sister said, and I quote, "Sorry you didn't find it there but the quest is half the fun."

So I believe it was a disappointing day for Mr. Fariello. Best luck to him as he continues his quest. I'm sure he was much closer to the treasure than I have been thus far.

Mr Fariello's solution interested me but I felt it had a couple of flaws.

For starters, Box Canyon looks like a bit of a touristy area with walkways for visitors, and the suggested solution for 'the blaze' is beauty spot of which there are a number of photos online. I feel the correct location will be a little more remote and untouched.

Also, the suggested location of the box looks too dangerous and difficult to extract - if you need specialist equipment and permits to get at it, you're on the wrong track.

Interesting and extreme example of confirmation bias - he convinced himself that he had actually seen the treasure box when he hadn't.

Nevertheless, I thank Mr Fariello for sharing his hunt and wish him better luck next time.

I totally agree with you. I like the way he interpreted some of the poem and it opened my mind some. Words can have so many meanings.

Confirmation bias is a tough thing. I think my "best" solution right now has some flaws but I can still twist different words to fit. Likely I'm heading down the confirmation bias path. Who knows.

I feel like the right location will just fall into place. I hope I'm alive when someone finds it though, because I'm very curious.

There's good chinese ones available now at very reasonable prices. Go into the settings menu and look for Peoms, then set scrim up to exclude non related poetry. Then walk into forest, turn left at meth lab go past the 'shine still and around the pot plantation. You should come to a glade with magic mushrooms. Its all written on the back of the lrd instructions.

We skeptics are often criticized for "ruining the fun", but I'd rather be a skeptic than an adult who feeds on childish fantasies.

The OP wrote in the first post: "I have solved the poem, went to the treasure site, saw the box..."

"Saw the box" is specific, and now we see that he never retrieved the box.

Is this a treasure hunting site or a fan fiction site?

It would be nice if the site's culture were one of fact. Santa Claus is for kids.
