I'm surprised it is taking so long to reach $3 here

$2.89 is a 40 cent Rise.

(50 cents for me. I had a 10 cent a Gallon discount last time I filled up,
trying not to waste my 10 cents per this time on such high prices, so I'm babying my Tank) 3/4 tank left. and long trip tomorrow to butcher etc. will do me in though :(

the news keeps saying Gas is only up 7 cents .
Where they get the 7 Cents I don't know.

Officially up 7 Cents before the Gouging maybe.

I should own a Gas station , I could become a multi Millionaire this week again

I guess we shouldn't be complaining when bottled water is going for $45 a case down south....just shows how ruthless society has truly become. Kick them when they're down should be the new motto on our coins.

Well you'd better have money to spend if you choose not to prep. Everything costs more when nothing is available and alot of businesses will make money off of the unprepared.

California refineries were not affected yet the price of gas went up when the Texas hurricane hit; go figure. Simple answer: gouging based on false fear.
Don.....

Yep.

I'm also wondering since Last night I hear Florida & or other southern states are
Putting Limits on how high they can push the price.

so the refineries may be making it up by making us pay for what they want to charge them :(

Must be nice having Mega Insurance for events like This.

Tax relief incentives.

Emergency Help from the Government.

And still gouge their Customers for extra.

Record Profits this Year for the Refineries :(

Watch those Christmas Bonuses double.

No shortage here in PA yet, but my daughter said she paid $2.85/gal. on Monday. I think gas here was around $2.30 before the hurricane hit.

The refineries didnt cause the hurricane nor force those people to live there and own cars so why would they worry about that. People want fuel and will pay what it costs or they won't drive. A little self responsibility negates most of these arguments easily. People seems to despise socialism but the first thing they want is more government in our markets to spread the socialism and fairness. Funny how that works.

Was $2.499 ($2.50) here Before.

I paid $2.799 ($2.80) Only because I had a 10 Cent per Gallon Discount to use .
I really would Have liked to have kept it & built it up to at least 20 - 25 cents
but fear is, by the time I get there Gas will be 30 40 cents Higher :(
it's a loose, loose proposition especially where there is also talk of tax increases here again, and I'm sure Fuel is one of the Things they want to raise.

They should just nationalize all the oil companies and we could have free Bernie gas or free Obama gas. I doubt anything bad would happen if we keep pumping enough money in. Sounds way cheaper!

Hard to feel sorry for people.
I have to follow regulations when I build a new outhouse in the woods (maximum size requiremnets, distance from WATERWAYS) yet these idiots build million dollar homes on a beach and no one sees it coming.
My outhouse is still standing and the only bail out I will need is when I run out of tp.

I do feel if you had 2 Bailouts in your lifetime. You should not be Eligible for a 3rd.
unless you've already Jumped through hoops & are willing to jump through even more stringent ones now.

Only because if your Home doesn't make it through one & you get Government help,
More Power to You :headbang:

But Build your home Stronger & Better or elsewhere .

If it happens again & your house is destroyed,

at least Before you can get a third, you should be able to Prove
the storm that hit the coast was entirely historic in nature .
Like cat 10 hurricane,Earthquake , Tsunami , or Asteroid Strike.

or you need to move for a third bailout. we all live & Learn. Or at least should.

Most insurance companies don't even offer flood insurance for this reason and that's why the feds carry the ball on this. If it's unsustainable and unaffordable to the homeowner then it makes perfect sense that the feds would offer it.
If it's a losing venture that will cost us billions you can be sure both parties will jump on board and drag us along for the ride. Don't expect any words from trump about this massive waste even tho things like this is what he ran on.
The Dems are embracing him now as he slides further left.
We all want to be liked right?

I've had no problem getting flood insurance in Florida, bought it from 3 different companies in Florida as my mortgage changed hands over the last 16 years.

I've had flood insurance too and thankfully never needed it, only one close call. Sifting through the mess that's left of your house would be the rottenest job I could think of! Water ruins everything and it's usually all trash.
