Riker display cases are nice for relics and they come in many sizes. Here's a small case with one of my colonial shoe buckles in it (I added the red felt).

Only advice on such a broad question is "Get Creative?" Design what you want to fit you area and then go find something close to it or make one, shadow box type displays are pretty easy to set in any room.
