The Angle of the Picture may be the reason for the look.

Someone needs to carry that Hunk of Loose Wire on the floor too
I wonder if the Extra Length is needed to allow the Kid to be far away from the detection Field.

No, I've seen different pics of the same detector, it really is as big as it looks in that pic. Keep in mind that you wouldn't swing that, its really just a giant 2-box detector, and you just carry it as you walk. It would have sucked for coins and and such but I bet it could find cannon balls or similar things 10 feet deep!

Actually I used pretty close to this set up, except for a thin bungie cord, swinging a Minelab for 10+ a day for weeks on end it came in handy when targets were slim and the arm was hurting.

I've thought about the Minelab Set up



But at $130.00 I don't like the Price, especially since I have no way of Knowing if it will fit My Gut, or even like it if it does

Unfortunately since I quit Smoking, I've gone from a 27 Waist to a 39 Waist ,And My gut Hangs over
at about 53" I've actually gone from Medium T's to presently wearing a 4X T
& from 125 lbs to 270. I still kick myself for Quitting.

I saw a Minelab setup on a Table, for $60.00 (If I remember right)a few years ago at a Club Hunt.
Kept debating but Didn't Bite maybe I should Have.

I presently use the "Detecting Buddy" I am happy with it but I Still get back Strain,
and the Grass is always Greener Syndrome
always has me Thinking there has to be Better out there

Gee I quit smoking and dropped 40lbs, then again I cut back on the munchies. Actually it was more to do with a operation.
I paid around $110 can. for mine and what I liked about the harness was it distributes the weight load to the centre of the body. You don't need to have the two rings connecting, as you can use another strap to link the two rings then using the bungie off the middle of that strap.

Jeff, thanx for posting. That pix has circulated around before. But I don't recall seeing the accompanying text.

Anything of that era was for very large (hubcab sized and larger) objects. Interesting nostalgia. Thanx !
