how much of an investment? 10-20 bucks? might find it at the library or a used book store cheap. the 2010 equipment guide might not be much help now, but any tips and insight are always valuable.

Andy has his own shop,

As far as if it's worth it? Don't have one, but Wayne Gretzky has an opinion.

Just looked on his site and only saw a couple of books from Garret being advertised. Maybe I was looking in the wrong section on their site, but under books was limited.

I've been metal detecting since I was a kid, and even with that, I am the first to say that any book that you think you can learn from is a book you should consider getting. I have an entire bookcase full of metal detecting, treasure hunting, gold prospecting, meteorite hunting/ID, and general rock hunting books.

If you learn even ONE new thing, and that thing leads to a cool find, then I would say it is most certainly worth your investment.

Is this the quote you are talking about?

“A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be.”

If this book is outdated....I don’t want to be there ;)

It's worth at least what someone will pay for it. My opinion.... why pay for the advice you can get from TNet everyday.... for nothing? ╦╦Ç

Couldn’t agree with you more. One of the many reasons I am here. Sometimes Treasure books have diagrams they use and having all of them cataloged and easy to reference might be a little faster to get to. But I do agree with you 100% about Treasurenet being a wealth of knowledge.
