A few 1840s largies have been the worst. Also some with no dates. a few ihps that were toasted beyond belief from all sorts of dates

I am surprised you got a date off that one, you must have spent some time decifering that seated!

Yes took a couple of hours. I was so happy to get a date and mint mark. Others have said it looks like it was in a fire. There was a old settlement where I dug up the coin so I believe it was.
