During WW II the silver nickels had a large "P" mint mark. First time coins made at the Philadelphia mint had a mark. A coin collecting bank teller in DC found a nickel with no mint mark, looked into it, contacted the Secret Service, and eventually they caught a man counterfeiting nickels! He figured they wouldn't catch him because nobody would do such a thing. His equipment was so good some of it went to the US Mint - and he, of course, went to prison.

Good luck to all,
