You are probably going to get an additional 1.5 to 2 inches of depth on a quarter sized target, the only issue is since the coil is bigger you will probably have a target separation issue. Bigger coils are great for target sparse areas since they go deeper and cover more ground per sweep. If you ever find yourself hunting trashy areas smaller coils work better.
