I live in NE Ohio area. A lot of this area was settled in the 1750s Area and after. I live near the Tuscarawas river, I would like to find places where settlers and indians camped and crossed the river.Near Dover Ohio they constructed Dover dam.So when it rains the dam floods a lot of lands above it. I think hyou might still be able to locate places below it. How would you locate crossings and camp sites ? Most of the land now is federal for flooding and such ? Would it be and good above the dam ? Maybe some signs to look for .

Thanks In ADVANCE all input appreciated !!

Hello Gare,

One thing you are looking for is iron that will indicate possible dwellings, camps or work sites. It's funny we look for iron to find the "good spots" then curse the very thing when we hunt.
