Camp Grant was the name used from 1866 to 1872 for the United States military post at the confluence of the San Pedro River and Aravaipa Creek in the Arizona Territory.
So I found this because of a ghost story involving a massacre nearby.
The Spanish were in the area first right? I wondered when they left, or were they still around when the California gold rush occurred.
Although the site is privately owned I also wondered if anyone had visited it or the surrounding area, and if any relics or artifacts had been found.
Just random curiousity. The area seems fairly accessible, but I won't ever go there.
Bearing in mind people's viewpoints of past events can color their presentation, here is a site I found which has a lot of information about the Camp Grant massacre including the trial which followed if anyone is interested.
