Nice finds with an awesome friend and his permission. 4 late 1800’s IHP, 1799LC, 1867 two cent, eagle and police buttons, women’s compact covers and what appears to be a scabbard tip and more. Bottom left relic starts with the letters PRE, however the rest is missing. The word president would have fit perfectly. Records have a US president once staying at this location. We’ll be heading back to detect this week.

The President piece is actually a suspenders clip...

Not buttons. They’re hollow in the back. I believe they are the tops to compact cases of some kind.

President is the name of the company that produced the suspender buckle. They are pieces two piece buttons that probably had iron backs that rusted away or just seperated from the back...ie. the heart one is probably from a pair of overalls. The oldest relic there is at the 9:00 position...is the chafe (inner workings) from a colonial (1700s) shoe buckle...how old is the property?
