I’ve shot a couple of feral toms that were beating up my cats. But the worst was when I was laying for one with a 22 pellet rifle (I lived in a subdivision). It was just dark, I heard him coming making that tom cat cry, I had a flashlight taped on, and I popped that sucker right between his glowing eyes.

Then I found out, after going inside, that my old black (fixed) tomcat was nowhere to be found!!!! Man I crawled through brush and woods on the edge of my property for hours calling for him. He came home at dawn and I was so happy. Luckily I had missed. I hit him on the shoulder then the bullet ended up under the skin on his ribs on the other side. I had been hitting the bottom of coke cans all day at that range. He was a lucky animal.

My daughter never knew Daddy shot Spooky.

We have a problem with those in Florida. Some cat lover's want to call them strays,,, but these are not. They will kill & eat pet cats that are outside. A good , strong pellet rifle in .20, .22, or .25 caliber, will get rid of them.
