Kinda like baseball. You miss 1/2 the time, and you're still batting 500!:laughing7:

This is how I interpret the numbers: 35 or less = no rain. At 40 a few drops might start to appear here and there. At 50 your getting into a light, brief shower now and then. Better have the waterproof machine or the rain cover. 60 and above, either make other plans or plan to get wet.

We've seen a lot of 20% chances be heavy rain or snow. also seen a couple 100% never happen. they are making educated guesses or assumptions but we still hope that they are right and try to plan accordingly.

So many variables in the weather they can't always be right.
So many times I didn't go geocaching or prospecting because of the forcast, but I got my yard work done.

Our SoCal Predictors have it easy. No matter the day it is warm and sunny in summer it is bordering on Hot and in winter they say It might rain. When it does rain, everyone is happy because it seldom does. It is good to wash down some dust and people take their kids outside to show them water coming from the sky. I know lots of kids that have never seen snow and they are in their 20's and 30's

I lay in the bed this morning listening to the flag being blown briskly in the wind, along with a melody from the wind chimes on the front porch. I determined it was going to be a windy day.

I arose from my bed and walked to the window to see that the sky was heavily overcast and it was raining nicely. I determined it was going to be a rainy morning here in NE Ohio, and that I was pleased that I got in a couple of hours of detecting yesterday afternoon.

Decades ago I lost all faith in the weather forecasts, and deal strictly with what is happening right now outside of my window.

Where do I collect my $137K paycheck????

Our weather forecasts are extended since our county includes, oceanfront, inland valleys, mountains and desert.
The forecasters usually get the forecast right each day in at least one of those areas.
