Or condolences? I think I id'd the box top in the other thread. Top to an English first half of the 18th century locking round box, used for storing tobacco or some other valuable. I saw one that sold in England. You had to move the four pieces on the top just so to get the box to open. So it's the top to a locking box. These must be rare. Now to go back and find all the gold it held. But it was 8' from the hammered silver coin.
I really wasn't counting....seriously. But in the meantime I'm tearing apart the spare bedroom looking for the misplaced gold coin from a year ago. It's raining...again.
